Responsible for almost one-third of California's scenic coastline, California State Parks manages the state's finest coastal wetlands, estuaries, lakes and beaches.
The State Parks of San Luis Obispo Coast manage over 38 miles of beach-front property. The views are dominated by the Pacific Ocean from the waterfalls in Limekiln State Park to the off-highway vehicles of Oceano Dunes. State beaches continue to be the most visited park resource.

Bring you own boogie board and wet suit to the beach for a day of sunbathing and fun. There are lifeguards on-duty seasonally at Pismo State Beach and Cayucos State Beach. Junior lifeguard training classes are offered through County Parks from June-August. Scuba Diving, Surfing, Swimming, Wind Surfing are all activities enjoyed at our beaches.

Beach access for those with some form of disability include the new ALL-TERRAIN wheelchairs.

Fishing
Pier fishing at William R. Hearst Memorial State Beach, Cayucos Pier, Pismo Pier, MB, Morro Strand. Fishing off the pier in any state park does not require a fishing license. Surf fishing is permitted with a valid California fishing license. For current information, refer to California Fish & Game regulations.

Both San Simeon and Santa Rosa Creeks are closed to fishing year-round.
