New Underwater Life Exhibit Opens at Morro Bay State Park Museum of Natural History

Morro Bay , CA: Diver/photographers Ken Bondy and Gary Powell have contributed a room full of stunning photographs of underwater life, taken at the Morro Bay T-pier.  These photographs make up an exhibit on display at the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History auditorium.  In addition to the photographs, an interpretive panel of tide pool life from the Museum prior to renovation has been brought out of storage and re-displayed, and a tide pool model is also on display.  To round out the exhibit, the Museum plans to show a continuously-running Power Pt. program developed by the divers containing images from the exhibit.  Photos and photo CDs will be for sale at the Museum, with 100% of proceeds going to Central Coast Natural History Association.  The exhibit will run January and February, and possibly March and April as well.

Special Adventures With Nature program; On Saturday, Feb. 23 at 1:00 PM, diver/photographers Ken Bondy and Gary Powell will give a presentation on their diving expeditions in Morro Bay and elsewhere, at the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History auditorium.  They will present a Power Pt. program showing invertebrates and fishes that live under an ordinary-looking pier.  They will also show the equipment used in their dives, including wet and dry suits, SCUBA gear, underwater camera housings, and more.  The talk will last about one hour.

For more information about either event, please contact Rouvaishyana, Museum Manager, (805) 772-2694 ext. 105
