Join California State Parks for a Lunar Eclipse Viewing

Morro Bay , CA : On Wednesday, February 20 , 2008, from 6:00 - 9:45 p.m., a total eclipse of the moon is a startling sight.  Meet at sunset , 6:00 PM for an introduction to night sky viewing.  Totality of eclipse is 7:26 PM.

The moon is in Leo 2-3 degrees from Regulus and 3-4 degrees from Saturn. Saturn is at its brightest for the year at +0.4 degrees magnitude.  The eclipse and the event end at 9:45 PM.  Meet at the Montana de Oro Sandspit parking lot, open especially for this event.  Dress warmly, bring binoculars and a red flashlight if you have one.  We will provide telescopes but feel free to bring yours if you have one.  Rain or cloud cover will cancel.
