California State Parks Requests Public Input
For Classification Change at
William Randolph Hearst Memorial State Beach
San Simeon, CA – California State Parks will hold a public workshop on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hearst Castle Visitor Center. The meeting is designed to obtain public input regarding a classification change for William Randolph Hearst Memorial State Beach.
This workshop will provide information on the classification process of State Parks. It will also be an opportunity to gather public interest and comments in the potential change in classification for this coastal public land.
“We are looking for public input to assess the possibility of a classification change that will reclassify William Randolph Hearst Memorial State Beach as part of San Simeon State Park within the California State Parks system,” said District Superintendent Nick Franco of the San Luis Obispo Coast District. “This is due to the recent addition of 13 miles of coastline to San Simeon State Park as a result of the Hearst Ranch Conservation Agreement.”
The meeting will be held at the Hearst Castle Visitor Center at 750 Hearst Castle Road, San Simeon, CA.
