Join California State Parks in 'Holding Hands with Nature'

Morro Bay , CA: A series of natural history activities suitable for families at the Museum of Natural History in Morro Bay State Park, Dec. 26-31, 2007. If you’re looking for something fun and educational to do during the week between Christmas and New Year, come to the Museum!

Wed. Dec. 26, 10:00 AM-12:00 noon: Dennis Sheridan and friends, live tropical insects. 2:00 PM: Linda Winters & Carol Burkhart, whale puppet show. Dick Evans, whale talk and storytelling, in Museum auditorium. 4:00 PM Rouvaishyana, Astronomy talk & how telescopes work, in auditorium. Star watching on deck afterward, weather permitting, with other staff and Docents.

Thur. Dec. 27, 10:30 AM: Katharina Obermoser-Ruef, children’s activities in auditorium. 2:00 PM Louise Abbott, Herons and Other Rookery Wonders, in Museum Learning Center (downstairs).

Fri. Dec. 28, 2:00 PM: Linda Winters & Carol Burkhart, sea otter puppet show. Norma Wightman, sea otter talk and DVD, in Museum auditorium.

Sat. Dec. 29, 1:00 PM: Kristi Krutsinger, Wolf Hybrid Adoption and Rescue, live wolf hybrid program at Morro Bay State Park campfire center. Participants should park in advance at the Marina and walk in through the campground. Vehicles displaying disabled placards may drive in. In case of rain, event to be held at Museum auditorium.

Sun. Dec. 30, 2:00 PM: Melinda Alvarado, California Bat Conservation Program, bat program including live bats, in auditorium.

Mon. Dec. 31, 2:00 PM: Norma Wightman, Whites Pt. Vistas, Adventures With Nature walk suitable for families. Meets in front of Museum.

There is no charge for these programs. Donations are accepted and the Museum’s Nature Store will be open.
