Sea Otter (Enhydra lutris)
These marine mammals are a smaller “sub-species” of the sea otters that live along the coasts of Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. They live in the water their entire lives. The sea otter’s dense fur keeps them warm, and with proper care, water actually never reaches their skin. Sea otters eat shellfish, sea urchins, and an occasional sea star.
