Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers is an organization that encourages low-impact riding on trails and stresses the three C’s of trail use: control, consideration and common sense.

Since 1987 CCCMB has been working to keep local trails on public lands open for trail users and is dedicated to improving off-road cycling experiences in San Luis Obispo County, including Montaña de Oro State Park and Morro Bay State Park. CCCMB is the San Luis Obispo County affiliate of the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and is a partner with California State Parks.

CCCMB members have invested thousands of hours of volunteer work in the repair of trail erosion and in constructing new trails. Responsible trail use and observation of trail etiquette are fundamental objectives in order to ensure continued trail use for all and the prevention of erosion and user conflict. Hikers, runners, equestrians and cyclists work together to help ensure continued access to public trails.

Formally organized in 1989, CCCMB hosts at least one half-day of trail work each month from September through June, generally on a weekend morning. No previous trail work experience is required to participate. Experienced crew leaders provide instruction and direction. Tools are provided for the volunteers. Two major workdays each year are TrailWerks events, usually held in the fall and spring.

In 2007, CCCMB, hikers, equestrians and California State Parks staff met on May 12 th and again on November 3 rd for TrailWerks events at Montaña de Oro State Park for a day of trail building.

When using the trails in Montaña de Oro State Park and Morro Bay State Park, please be mindful of the riding etiquette recommended by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and CCCMB.

  • Ride only on open trails.
  • Leave no trace.
  • Ride in control of your bicycle.
  • Always yield the trail to others.
  • Never scare animals or people.
  • Plan ahead.

CCCMB maintains a list of trail conditions and other info.
